BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The CalPERS Two Year Additional Service Credit program, as established under California Government Code Section 20903, allows the City (as part of a budget reduction process) to offer a retirement incentive of two years service credit to eligible employees. The current PERS contract allows the City, with Council approval, to offer the program to Miscellaneous and Fire (sworn) employees. At its May 19, 2010 meeting, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 2010-69, which offered two years additional service credit to two classifications: Fire Captain and Park Maintenance Worker II. Based on a review of budget and staffing needs for the Parks and Recreation Department, staff is recommending Council amend Resolution No. 2010-69 and exclude the classification of Park Maintenance Worker II. FISCAL IMPACT: There is no fiscal impact from excluding the Park Maintenance Worker II classification from the Two Year Additional Service Credit program. FUNDING AVAILABLE: Not applicable. APPROVED: Dean Gua co, Human Resources Manager Bartlam, interim City Manager RESOLUTION NO. 2010-100 A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 2010-69TO EXCLUDE THE CLASSIFICATION OF PARK MAINTENANCE WORKER II WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lodi is a contracting Public Agency of the Public Employees' Retirement System; and WHEREAS, the City of Lodi desires to provide another designated period for Two Years Additional Service Credit, Section 20903, based on the contract amendment included in said contract, which provided for Section 20903, Two Years Additional Service Credit, for eligible members. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that said City Council does seek to add another designated period and does hereby authorize this Resolution, indicating a desire to add a designated period from May 20, 2010 through August 18, 2010, for eligible members in the following classifications: Classification Department Fire Captain Fire Date: June 16, 2010 I hereby certify that Resolution No. 2010-100 was passed and adopted by the Lodi City Council in a regular meeting held June 16, 2010, by the following vote: AYES: COUNCIL MEMBERS — Hansen, Hitchcock, Johnson, and Mounce NOES: COUNCIL MEMBER§ — None ABSENT: COUNCIL MEMBER§ — Mayor Katzakian ABSTAIN: COUNCIL MEMBERS — None &RJOHL City Clerk 2010-100
