City Clerk Reimche advised the City Council that three
PUC applications have been filed by Pacific Gas and
Electric Company for increases in its electric and gas
rates:
a) Application No. 90-05-011 filed on May 8,
1990
b) Application ND. 90-04-041 filed on April 25,
1990
C) Application No. 90-05-003 filed on May 1,
1990

AND CITY OFFICIALS AND INTERESTED PARTIES
PACIFIC GAS AND ELECTRIC COMPANY (PG&E) filed Application No.
90-05-011 on May 8, 1990, with the California Public
Utilities Commission (CPUC or commission) requesting
authority to increase its electric and gas rates.
The requested rate adjustment would increase electric
revenues by approximately $58,801,000 and gas revenues by
approximately $16,307,000 for an overall increase of
$75,108,000 to become effective January 1, 1991,a rate

increase of less than one percent. This change n revenues
is needed to cover a projected increase in cost of capital
due to projected higher interest rates and changes in
economic, regulatory and business risks for PG&E.
The state, counties and municipal corporations, and any other
parties interested in *the above-mentioned filing can obtain a
copy of Application No. 90-05-011 and related exhibits upon
written request made to PG&E at 77 Beale Street, Room 3109,
San Francisco, California 94106.
This notice is given in accordance with Rule 24 of the Rules
of Practice and Procedure of the California Public Utilities
commission.

PACIFIC GAS AND ELECTRIC COMPANY hereby gives notice that in
Application No. 90-04-041 filed on April 25, 1990 with the
California Public Utilities Commissidn, it has requested
authority to increase its electric and gas rates.
The requested rate adjustment would increase electric
revenues by approximately $38.7 million and gas revenues by
$0.5 million. The adjustment would increase rates by less
than one percent over the rates in effect on January 1,
1990. 'Ile increase is needed to expand PG&E's programs to
assist our customers' conservation and energy efficiency
efforts. The increase in rates, if approved, would become
effective January 1, 1991, or as soon thereafter as the CPUC
may authorize.
The state, counties and municipal corporations, and any
other parties interested in the above-mentioned filing can
obtain a copy of Application No. 90-04-041 and related
exhibits upon written request made to PG&E at Post Office
Box 7442, Law Department, San Francisco, California 94120,

PACIFIC GAS AND ELECTRIC COMPANY hereby gives notice that in
�. Application No. 90-05-003 filed on May 1, 1990, with the
California Public Utilities Commission it has requested
authority to increase its electric and gas rates by $14.7
million. This proposed increase would recover some of the
costs to restore service. and repair facilities damaged as a
reside of ..n= uctobe.L i i , ;.9j: vct :.iyu:.i:c: .►.id ;` _' }3d .rents.
PG&E spent approximately $76 million on earthquake repairs.
After subtracting insurance payments, costs already included
in rates, and tax benefits, we are requesting $9.7 million
($2.7 million gas: $7.0 million electric) in rates in 1991
for unreimbursed 1989 and 1990 costs, and approximately $5.0
million ($0.9 million gas: $4.1 million electric) in expected
costs during 1991 and following years. The adjustment would
increase rates by less than one percent.
The requested rate adjustment would increase electric
revenues by approximately $11.1 million and gas revenues by
$3.6 million on January 1, 1991, or as soon thereafter as the
Commission nay authorize. of these increases, $4.0 million
electric and $0.9 million gas in rate increases over 1990
levels would remain in effect in 1992.
