BACKGROUND INFORMATION: On February 17,2010, the City Council authorized the advertisement for bids for padmount transformers. On April 21, 2010, bids were opened for padmount transformers. Four suppliers submitted bid proposals. Life -cycle costs (total purchase price plus cost of estimated power loss during the projected life of the transformer) for responsive bids were evaluated. Pacific Utilities of Pleasant Hill, showed the lowest life- cycle cost total for all advertised padmount transformers. Jr. -PE, Assistant Electric Utility Director Weldat Haile—PE, Senior Power Engineer Konridt Bartlam, Interim City Manager RESOLUTION NO. 2010-82 A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF PADMOUNT TRANSFORMERS WHEREAS, in answer to notice duly published in accordance with law and the order of this City Council, sealed bids were received and publicly opened on April 21, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. for the purchase of padmount transformers for the Electric Utility Department, described in the specifications therefor approved by the City Council on February 17, 2010; and WHEREAS, said bids have been compared as to life -cycle costs, checked, and tabulated and a report thereof filed with the City Manager as shown on Exhibit A attached. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby approve the purchase of padmount transformers as follows: 12 each 37.5kVA, I -Phase 9 each 50kVA, I -Phase leach 75kVA, I -Phase 4 each 75kVA, 3 -Phase 1 each 112.5kVA, 3 -Phase 240/120V Pacific Utilities $17,395.65 240/120V Pacific Utilities $15,111.90 240/120V Pacific Utilities $ 1,904.21 208Y/120V Pacific Utilities $18,631.05 480Y/277V Pacific Utilities $ 5,318.96 ........------------ Total $58,361.77 to Pacific Utilities, of Pleasant Hill, CA, in the amount of $58,361.77; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby reject all bids for the 167kVA I -Phase 240/120V transformer.
