Advisory Board are proud to have
successfully partnered with various Lodi
businesses, community groups and service
organizations in the past year to bring the
arts in a variety of mediums to the residents
of Lodi.

Project Lodi Art is a shining example of a
winning partnership with the community,
local businesses and service organizations
in Lodi

• Phase I — Lodi Avenue Sidewalk Mosaic
Project was successfully completed in 2010
up Proi"ect Lodi Art qu
• Phase II was successfully completed in
2011. Phase II, Van Buskirk Seating Wall
Mosaic was created by Liberty High School
Arts Students. These at -risk students were
provided the opportunity to use their art
class time creating this mosaic. With
funding for the arts reduced in schools this
was a chance to bring art back to the
classroom

Interactive Sculpture Display in Downtown
Lodi April 15 — July 15, 2011
• The Chamber arranged live television
coverage of the installation of the 10

Partnership
• AiPP commissioned a mural to memorialize
Japan Town in Lodi. It was completed in
2010. The dedication ceremony included a
modern dance interpretation of Japanese
internment during World War 2

• Grants — allow the Lodi Arts Commission to
recommend recipients for funds the City
Council and Staff have allocated for arts
projects that assist artistic endeavors in a
variety of mediums. These grant funds create
opportunities for the residents of Lodi to
participate in drama, art tours, musical
expression and dance to name a few.

keeping the symphony solvent, the Central
Valley Youth Symphony gives back to the

mentorship and direction from the art
center instructors on portfolio
assemblage, presentation and biography
preparation

• Grant funds assist them in fund raising
for important cultural pow wows and
assists in keeping their cultural
heritage alive by teaching the art of
drumming to the younger generation

interactive education program that
culminates in the experience of a live
classical music concert by a full
professional symphony orchestra.

of the Lodi Arts Commission has provided
funding for Scholarships to disadvantaged
youth to pay for tuition for a multitude of
arts classes offered by the Lodi Arts and
Culture Division at Hutchins Street Square.

• The partnership between the Lodi Arts
Foundation and The City of Lodi Division of
Arts & Culture has provided:
• $2,000.00 in Scholarships for underserved
youth in 2010/2011
• In addition, the LAF and the Arts & Culture
Division successfully applied for and were
awarded 2 grants, Raymos Foundation - $ 1,000
and Geweke - $500
