'ROM; City Manager Amount Budgeted: $18,000 FETING DATE: February 7, 1990 Total Cost: $13,280.23 4GENDA TITLE: Purchase of Used Temporary Office Trailer tECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council approve and authorize tYw- ;ity Manager and City Clerk to execute an agreement for the purchase )f a used temporary office trailer from Sweeley's Mobile Offices of hodesto.., California. 3ACKGROUND INFORMATION: Funds to purchase or lease a temporary office trailer were approved in the 1989-90 Capital Improvement Program to provide the immediate need for additional space at the Municipal Service Center Administration Building. The purchase of the temporary office trailer would provide space for two existing Public Works assistant Superintendents and the Water Conservation staff of three. rhe Public Works Department is currently budgeting $200,000 annually to expand the Public Works Administration building. It is anticipated that the expansion of the Administration building should be completed in 1994. It is in the best interest of the City to purchase the trailer rather than lease. Leasing the temporary office trailer for four years would cost $15,400. Purchasing the tempoYarr office trailer is $13,280, a savings of $2,180. Purchasing the traier would also provide the option of using it elsewhere if needed o: recouping a portion of the expenditure. Jack L. FILE NO. 0190s.25 January 99 194n RESOLUTION NO. 90-15 A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI = COUNCIL APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT FOR THE SSE OF A USED TEMPORARY OFFICE TRAILER W EF AS, funds to purchase or lease a temporary office trailer were approved in the 1989-90 Capital Improvement Program tc provide additional space at the Municipal Service Center Administration Building; and WHEREAS, because of a $2,180 savings in purchasing rather than leasing over the anticipated four-year period the temporary office trailer would be used, it is in the best interest of the City to purchase the trailer; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council hereby approves and authorizes the City Manager and City Clerk to execute an agreement for the purchase of a used temporary office trailer from Sweeley's Mobile Offices of Modesto, California, at a cost of $13,280.
