'Public law requires each local transportation funds hearing to receive public needs. public agency receiving to hold an annual public input on unmet transit Transportation needs can best be described as those trips required to provide the essentials necessary to maintain a miivmtml standard of living. This includes trips necessary for medical and dental services, shopping, employment, personal business, education, social services, and recreation. After needs are determined, then a decision must be made whether they can reasonably be met. .'COG has defined this "reasonable to be met" standard in economic terms . In 1988 COG found there were no unmet transit needs in the City of Lodi. However, staff feels there is a need to acquire a vehicle with wheelchair capability. Attached i s a usage schedule which provides performance indicators for Dial -A -Ride dui - i n g the past 12 months. Council is not required to make any findings or take any action at tnis meeting. COG is responsible for defining the unniet needs and whether these needs can reasonably be met. Respectfully submitted, --Jerry L.
