Wood Company, Lodi, California, and Item Nos. 18, 1C and 26 to Granite Construction Company, Stockton, California. A recommendation on Item 2C will be made at the Council meeting. BAaGROUND P4FORMATION The specifications for asphalt materials were approved by the City Council at its meeting of December 21, 1988, and three bids were received. The cost of asphalt material per ton has increased two percent F.O.B. Plant and decreased three percent delivered to the hopper of paver since the last 51d was requested in July 1988. C.C. Wood Company, Lodi, California, and Granite Construction Companyy, Stockton, California, submitted the same cost per ton for Item No. 2C. The most common way of breaking a tie is a flip of a coin. Prior to the Council meeting, vie will have a coin flip with both suppliers present. The results will be presented to the City Council at its meeting of January 18, 1989. RESOLUTION NO. 89-07 A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOP. ASPHALT MATERIALS FOR THIRD AND FOURTH QUARTERS CF FISCAL YEAR 1988-89 WHEREAS, in answer to notice duly published in accordance with law and the order of this City Council, sealed bids were received and publicly opened on January 10, 1989 at 11:00 a.m. for the contract for Asphalt Materials for Third and Fourth Quarters of Fiscal Year 1988-89, described in the specifications therefor approved by the City Council on December 21, 1988; and WHEREAS, three bids were received and said bids have been compared, checked, and tabulated and a report thereof fiied with the City Manager as shown on Exhibit A attached hereto; and WHEREAS, C. C. Wood Company of Lodi and Granite Construction Company of Stockton submitted the sane cost per ton bid for item No. 2C; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lodi that award of contract for Asphalt Materials be and the same is hereby awarded as follows: Item Mo. lA and Item No. 2A to C. C. Wood Company, Item Nos. 18, IC and 2B to Granite Construction Company, and Item Nc. 2C to the tie bidder and winner of the coin flip, Grani-te Construction Company, in the amounts shown in Exhibit A attached hereto.
