HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Report - September 18, 1991 (49)OF CITY OF LO®I COUNCIL COMMUNICATION AGENDA TITLE: Plans and Specifications and Advertisement for Bids for DBCP Treatment Unit at Well #16, Century Boulevard and WID Canal MEETING DATE: Septemtber 18, 1991 PREPARED BY: Public Works Director RECO"4ENDED ACTION: That the City Council approve the plans and specifications for the above project and authorize advertising for bids. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: This project will install a state mandated granular activated carbon (GAC) filter system at Well #16. This filter system will remove DBCP to levels established in the state safe drinking water standards. The State Department of Health Services has given the City of Lodi an April 1992 deadline to have one filter system installed and in operation. The design of the remaining filter units for the other "contaminated" wells will begin after the first system is in operation. This project is financed under the California Safe Drinking Water Bond Law Program administered by the State of California, Department of Water Resources, and the State Department of Health Services. The state will reimburse the City upon submittal of the proper paperwork.
