RECOMMENDED ACTION: Concur with the Mayor's appointment to the Library Board of
Trustees and further direct the City Clerk to re -post for vacancies on
the Lodi Animal Advisory Commission and Lodi Budget/Finance
Committee.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: At the July 15, 2009, City Council meeting, Council directed the City
Clerk to post for the vacancy on the Library Board of Trustees. The
Mayor has reviewed the applications and made his selection below.
Additionally, Council directed the Clerk to re-postfor the remaining vacancies on the Lodi Animal
Advisory Commission and the Lodi Budget/Finance Committee. Due to the fact that once again no
applications were received during this second application period, it is recommendedthat the vacancies
be posted once again to remain open until filled.

concurred with the Mayor's recommendation to appoint you to the Library Board of
Trustees.
A copy of this letterwill be forwarded to the City liaison for this group who will contact you
soon regarding your responsibilities and the dates and times of upcoming meetings.
It will be necessaryfor you to complete a Form 700 — Statement of Economic Interest
Assuming Office Statement (enclosed) no later than 30 days from the effective date of your
appointment (due Friday, September 78, 2009, by 5:00 p.m.). Please refer to the
enclosed Resolution 2008-210 for disclosure category requirements regarding your
particular board, commission, or committee. The original statementwill be retained by the
City Clerk's office.

Purpose: To advise the City Managerand the City Council on financial related
matters.
Meetings: Meets 2nd Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m.

To act in advisory capacity to the City Council in matters pertaining to
animals; exploring short- and long-term needs of the Lodi Animal
Shelter; making periodic inventoriesof animal services; and aiding in
coordinating and promoting pet population control measures and
exploring funding opportunities for such programs.
Meets 2nd Mondays of each month at 6:00 p.m.

Note: Appointments wi I I be made bythe Mayorwith Council approval. Applicants
must be registered to vote in San Joaquin County at the time of application. If
