VI Applicants propose to perform an on-call service on a 7 day -per -week basis. between the hours of 5 a.m. and 10 p.m.. Only passengers originatinq at or destined to Sacramento Metro Airport will be carried. VII The description of the equipment to be used in the proposed service is as follows: Two* 7 -Passenger Vans, 1987--1988. Dodge Grand -caravan SE. Plymouth Grand -voyager IE. Ford Aerostar. 6 Cylinder. Fully Automatic. Air Conditioned. Luxury models. Advantages of Vans per se (comfort. economy, ease of maintenance) * Additional vans will be added as needed after 3rd. month of service. Servicing and maintenance will be performed by applicants, and major work will be Performed by professional shops as required. VIII Attached hereto. made a part hereof and marked as exhibit "D" are copies of applicants' latest available balance sheet. Applicants have sufficient financial resources to institute and operate the proposed service. Ix The qrantinq of the authority Por the operation hierei.n sought would have no significant adverse effect upon the environment of the areas to be served. On the contrary, it is believed that the availability of this service would be beneficial to the public not only for its convenience but also by the resulting reduction of private vehicles on the roads and their impact nn the land, air, and energy resources. Public convenience and necessity require the granting of this appiicktion for the following reasons: 11 The services offered by applicants are not beeeimg offered to the public in most of the proposed areas. Most of the San Joaquin county is beeinR offered similar services but only to the sirports of the say Area. With the new low airfares available from the Sacramento Airport. more and more people are avoiding the trafic congestions of the say Area and flying from Sacramento instead. The Interstate HW -5 sakes Sacramento Airport very convenient for that effect. 2; The applicants are currently in the business of hauling passengers to and from the Sacramento Airport. Their decision to provide this service has been influenced mainly by an increased demand from passengers vho are now ayin high cab -fares. or putting up with the inconvenience of ?rans erinq from one public transportation to another. to get to the airport. 3) To applicants' knowledge. some certificated services exist presently and are providing some services to parts of the Sacramento and Yolo Counties. for the foregoing reasons, applicants are of the opinion that the service herein proposed is non -controversial in nature and should not be in conflict with any existing public or Comission certificated service. The service will be provided between 5 a.m. and 10 p.m., 7 days a week. on an on-call basis, and will provide a convenient, comfortable, fast, and affordable connection to Sacramento Metro Airport. X. Attached hereto. made part hereof and marked as Exhibit "E" are cost data and incoase projections for the first Year of operation of the proposed service. XI Parties interested in or who may be affected by this application and upon whom copies of this application are ming nerved are set forth in proof of service by mail which is attached hereto. made a part hereof and marked Exhibit "F"• 71 trefore, applicants pray that the Commission issue its order as follows: 1. An ex parte granting a certificate of public convenience and necessity to the application as requested herein: 2. Granting the applicants such other relief as is just and proper. Dated at Sacramento.
