AGENDA TITLE: Adoption of Ordinance No. 1548 entitled, "An Ordinance of the City
Council of the City of Lodi Amending Section 2.04.100 of the Lodi
Municipal Code, Regulating the Order of Business for City Council
Meetings"

RECOMMENDED ACTION: Following reading by title, it would be appropriate for the
City Council to adopt Ordinance No. 1548.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Ordinance No. 1548 entitled. "An Ordinance of the City
Council of the City of Lodi Amending Section 2.04.100 of
the Lodi Municipal Code, Regulating the Order of Business
for City Council Meetings" was introduced at the regular
meeting of the Lodi City Council held April 1, 1992 and reintroduced with amendments
at the regular City Council meeting of April 15, 1992.
Pursuant to State statute, ordinances may be adopted five days after their
introduction following reading by title.

ORDINANCE NO. 1548
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LODI
AMENDING SECTION 2.04.100 OF THE LODI MUNICIPAL CODE,
REGULATING THE ORDER OF BUSINESS FOR CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LODI AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Lodi Municipal Code Section 2.04. 100 "Order of business
Assembly of officers". is hereby amended to read as follows:
"At the hour set by this chapter or other ordinance on the
day of each regular neeting, the members of the council, the city
clerk, city manager and city attorney small take their regular
stations in the council chambers and the business of the council
shall be taken up for consideration and disposition in the
following order, except that with the unanimous consent of the
council, matters may be taken out of order and that the o -der of
business set `Orth in this section may be changed from time to
time by the adoption of an ordinance by the city council:
"A. Roll c:1 11;
B. Invocation;
C. P iedge of allegiance;
D. Presentations:
1. Awards;
2. Proclamations;
E. Comrp_nts by the public;
F. Consent calendar;
G. Comments by city council members;
H. Conments by the public on non -agenda items;
I. Public hearings;
J. Planning corm i s s i on;
K. Coa-imnications (city clerk);
L. Regular calendar;
M. Ordinances;
N. Adjournment."
SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
.erewj~'tEare repealed insofar as such conflict may exist.
SECT10N 3. This ordinance shall be published one time in the "Lodi
News Sentinel", a daily newspaper of general circulation printed and
published in 'hp City of Lodi and shall be in force and take effect
thirty days from and af=.er its passage and approval.
