The Lodi Ambulance Service has adjusted its method of
delivery of service to the Lodi cormun i ty . Mr. Mike
Milssen, Chief Operations Officer, Lodi Ambulance
Service, will be in attendance at Wednesday night's

REVIEW OF PROPOSED AMBULANCE
RATES
02-22(d) Pursuant to State statute, Mayor Pinkerton called a special
meeting of the City Council to be held at 8:00 a.m.,
Tuesday, July 21, 1992 to reviev proposed ambulance rate
adjustments. The agenda for this special meeting was sent
out and posted at least 72 hours in advance of the meeting.
Mayor Pinkerton called the meeting to order at 8:07 a.m.
immediately following the Shirtsleeve Session which
commenced at 7:00 a.m. this date.
City Clerk Reimche recorded the roll as follows:
Present: Council Members - Pennino, Sieglock, Snider and
Pinkerton (Mayor)
Absent: Council Members - Hinchman
Also Present: City Manager Peterson, City Attorney McNatt
and City Clerk Reimche
City Manager Peterson introduced the matter advising that
the following letter had been received fran EMS (San
Joaquin Emergency Medical Services Agency) Coordinator
Elaine L. Hatch.
Dear Mr, Peterson:
As part of the County Ambulance ordinance, staff annually
reviews the emergency ambulance rates. In February of this
year, I contacted you to request your early input into the
analysis conducted by staff. Based upon your input, and
information obtained fran the ambulance providers, staff
has completed its analysis for 1992. Staff is recommending
a 5% adjustment in emergency ambulance rates. The adjusted
rates are specified on the table on the following page:

We are targeting July 28, 1992 for a presentation to the
Board of Supervisors on this recommendation. I am sharing
our recommendation with you prior to Board action, pursuant
to the request of a few cities who wished to review the
proposed adjustment prior to Board action.
Please call me if you have any questions or comments on
these rates, so that I may include your input in the
presentation to the Board of Supervisors on July 28, 1992.
If possible, I would appreciation receiving any comments by

Mr. Lewis Meyer cf Life Medical Industries, Inc. addressed
the City Council regarding the matter and responded to
questions as were posed by members of the City Council.
No formal action was taken by the City Council on this
matter.
There being no further business to come before the City
Council, the meeting was adjourned at approximately 6:30
a.m.
