AGENDA TITLE: Purchase of 12KV Bus Fittings for the
Industrial Substation Project

RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council adopt the attached resolu-
tion awarding the bid for the purchase of
approximately 1,300 connectors, fasteners, and
supports for use in construction of the
Industrial Substation's 12KV distribution structure to the low bidder,
Sefcor, Inc. of Griffin, Georgia, in the amount of $36,692.85.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: On January 15, 1992. the City Council approved
specifications and authorized advertisement for
bids for electrical bus fittings. Bfds were
opened on February 6. 1992:
Sefcor. Inc.. Griffin, GA 536,692.85
Maydwell b Hartzell. Brisbane. CA 40,498.75*
PowerCom, Orinda. CA 42,987.54*
* (Maydwell b Hartzell and PowerCom did not bid all items).
The electrical bus fittings will be used in the construction of the 12kv
distribution structure at the Industrial Substation. This structure, a
major component of the system expansion being installed at the site, will
provide additional electrical capacity, primarily for industrial and
commercial customers in the eastern part of the City.

A RESOLUTION OF THE LORI CITY COUNCIL
AWARDING THE BID FOR 1300 CONNECTORS, FASTENERS, AND SUPPORTS
IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE 12KV DISTRIBUTION STRUCTURE AT
THE INDUSTRIAL SUBSTATION

WHEREAS, in answer to notice duly published in accordance with
law and the order of this City Council, sealed bids were received and
publicly opened on February 6, 1992 at 11:00 am for the bid for
1300 connectors, fasteners, and supports in the construction of the
12KV distribution structure at the Industrial Substation, described in
the specifications therefor approved by the City Council on January
15, 1992; and
WHEREAS, said bids have been compared, checked, and tabulated and
a report thereof filed with the City Manager as follows:
Sefcor, Inc., Griffin, GA $36,692.85
Maydwell & Hartzell, Brisbane, CA 40,498.75 •
PowerCom, Orinda, CA 42,987.54 •
• Maydwell & Hartzell and PowerCom did not bid all items
WHEREAS. the City Manager recommends that award of the bid for
said materials be made to the low bidder, Sefcor, Inc.;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Lodi City Council that
award of bid for 1300 connectors, fasteners. and supports be and the
same is hereby awarded to Sefcor, Inc., the low bidder, in the amount
of $36,692.85.

I hereby certify that Resolution No. 92-29 was passed and
adopted by the City Council of the City of Lodi in a regular meeting

This letter is your authorization to exonerate the Instrument of Credit
covering faithful performance. The Instrument of Credit covering labor
and materials must remain in effect until May 19. 1992, in conformance
with State law. You w i I I receive no further correspondence regarding the
release of the Instrument of Credit for labor and materials unless a
claim is filed.

accepted the public improvements that were made in the subject project.
Enclosed for your files is a copy of the resolution accepting the public
improvements. From the date of the resolution, the City of Lodi w i I I
maintain the street and other public improvements installed within
rights-of-way and public utility easements as shown on the approved Plans.
The enclosed letter has been sent to your bank so the Instrument of Credit
covering faithful performance can be exonerated. The Instrument of Credit
covering labor and materials must remain i n effect for a period of 90 days
from the date of the resolution, i n conformance with State law. On
Hay 19, 1992. this instrument can be released ifno claims have been filed.
