BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The City Clerk's Office received a letter of resignation from Lodi Arts Commissioner, Laura Heinitz (on file in the City Clerk's Office). In addition, there were not enough applications received for the seven vacancies on the Greater Lodi Area Youth Commission, and it is requested that the City Council direct the City Clerk to post for an additional 15 -day period. Itis, therefore, recommended that the City Council direct the City Clerk to post for the vacancies below: Lodi Arts Commission Laura Heinitz Term to expire July 1, 2009 Greater Lodi Area Youth Commission Student Appointees: Megan Connors Term to expire May 31,2008 Lee Kraljev Term to expire May 31, 2008 Amanda Stevens Term to expire May 31,2008 Jacob Pearson Term to expire May 31,2008 Joseph Price Term to expire May 31,2008 Jonathan Newman Term to expire May 31,2009 Corinne Casey Term to expire May 31, 2009 Government Code Section 54970 et seq. requires that the City Clerk post for vacancies to allow citizens interested in serving to submit an application. The Lodi Arts Commission meets at 12:00 noon on the 2' d Wednesday of each month at the Thomas Theatre Gallery at Hutchins Street Square and consists of 11 members, each serving 3 -year terms. Applications are now being accepted to fill one (1) vacancy, which is due to expire July 1, 2010. Applications may be obtained from the City Clerk's Office at 221 W. Pine St,, 2°d floor. The Youth Commission meets on the 2nd Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the Cottage Room at Hutchins Street Square and consists of 1 City Council representative, 6 adult advisors serving 3 -year terms, and 9 student members serving 2 -year terms. Applications are now being accepted to fill seven (7) student vacancies for two terms, which are due to expire May 31, 2009, and five terms, which are due to expire May 31,2010.
