BACKGROUND I&ORMA`I'iON: The City of l,ixli's wastewater treatment fac11 it has baer contacted by several Lonal grease hauler:; investigating (4 possibility of dumping coo lect.ed grease interceptor wasi.e at the Ci ty of l,vdi's treatment fac 11 i Yy, These haulQcs havo been taking the grease waste tv the City of Stockton and the County of Sacramento wastewater tre&MPP f ar, i l i t lu:. These two Kaci 1 i t iew have recont ly stopped accept ing grease waste Wm outside their service uveas - The City of Laodi's wastewater treatment facility has not been designed to process grease waste and thus would be required to contract with a local grease recycler to handle any yrease accepted. The atLaahment (Mb ibit A) shows the estimated volumes and costs the City would incur by accepting grease waste. If the City is to provide this service a fee of ;0.25/gallon would have tO be adopted. Additionally, the attached Amendment (Exhibit B) would have to be adopted .in the Sewer Ordinance. }.t should be pointed out that it tho local grease haulers were to truck this grease waste directly to a recycling firm in Stockton they would only Pay x0.14/gallon for disposal. One of the grease hauling firms indicated to City staff that in their opinion (grease hauler) the recycling kicm in Stockton has a monopoly and it is unfair to have such. It is For this reasojelhe grease haulers have nsked for our consideration Lo accept grease. A FVNDING : None ac l..
