AGENDA TITLE: Consider Appointment of Council Member to Newly Created Valley -Wide Special
City Selection Committee

RECOMMENDED ACTION: Consider appointment of one Council Member as delegate and one
as alternate to a newly created Valley -wide Special City Selection
Committee.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The City Clerk's Office received the attached request from the
San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District to appoint a Council
Member to a newly created Valley -wide Special City Selection
Committee.
The Special City Selection Committee is charged with making appointments of city representatives to the
San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District's Governing Board and would consist of one member of
each city located within the District. It was further suggested that an alternate be appointed as well to
serve in the delegate's absence.
The first meeting is scheduled to take place on Thursday, January 29, 2009, at 6 p.m.

outside counsel/consultants relative to the Environmental Abatement Program litigation in the
amount of $48,115.29, as further detailed in the staff report (K-7).
