RECOMMENDED ACTION: Direct the City Clerk to post for one vacancy on the Planning
Commission and to re -post for seven vacancies on the newly
created Lodi Animal Advisory Commission.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The City Clerk's Office received a letter of resignationfrom Planning
Commissioner, Doug Kuehne, and it is recommended that the City
Council direct the City Clerk to post for this vacancy. Further, the
application deadline for the seven positions on the newly created
Lodi Animal Advisory Commission has closed with only four applications received. It is recommended
that the City Council direct the City Clerk to re -post these terms for another 30 -day period.

Seven (7) Vacancies
on Lodi Animal Advisory Commission
The City of Lodi is currently accepting applications for
he newly created Lodi Animal Advisory
Commission, charged with acting in an advisory
rapacity to the City Council in all matters pertaining to
animals; exploring short- and long-term needs of the Lodi
4nimal Shelter; making periodic inventories of animal
services that exist and/or may be needed; and aiding in
;oordinating and promoting pet population control
neasures and exploring funding opportunities for such
)rograms.
The Lodi Animal Advisory Commission meets at
3:00 p.m. on the Td Monday of each month in the
3ommunity Room at the Lodi Police Department and
;onsists of 7 members, each serving 3 -year terms.
Applications are now being accepted to fill 7 vacancies
or 2 terms, which are due to expire on December 31,
1008:2 terms, which are due to expire on December 31,
2009; and 3 terms, which are due to expire on December
31, 2010.
Applications may be obtained from the City Clerk's
office at 221 W. Pine St., 2"" floor. For more

site at www.lodi.gov.
Appointments to the commission will be made by the
vlayor with Council approval.
Note: You must be registered to vote in San Joaquin
'ounty at the time of application. If appointed, you will be

on the Planning Commission

the Planning Commission, charged with reviewing
changes to the City's General Plan & zoning regulations
to ensure development in Lodi is of the highest quality
and providing recommendations to Council on such
matters dealing with community development.
The Planning Commission meets at 7:00 p.m. on the
2"d & 4 t Wednesdays of each month at the Carnegie
Forum and consists of 7 members. Applications are now
being accepted to fill one (1) vacancy for a 2 -year term
due to expire June 30, 2009.
Applications may be obtained from the City Clerk's
office at 221 W. Pine St., 2"d floor. For more
information call 333-6702, or access the City's Web
site at www.lodi.gov.
Appointments to the commission will be made by the
Mayorwith Council approval.
Note: You must be registeredto vote in the City of Lodi
at the time of application. If appointed, you will be
required to complete a Statement of Economic Interest.
