Three Vacancies on Said Commission

RECOMMENDED ACTION: Direct the City Clerk to post for one vacancy on the Lodi Arts
Commission and to re -post for the three remaining vacancies on
said Commission.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The City Clerk's Office received a letter of resignation from Lodi Arts
Commissioner, Cynthia Inman (filed). In addition, the City Clerk's
Office, on a number of occasions, has posted for the three
remaining vacancies on the Lodi Arts Commission. Over the course
of these multiple postings, only one application has been received. It is recommended that the new
vacancy be posted and the remaining three vacancies be re -posted (as shown below) for another 30 -day
period, with the posting dates to remain open until filled if an insufficient number of applications is
received.

Government Code Section 54970 et seq. requires that the City Clerk post for vacancies to allow citizens
interested in serving to submit an application. The City Council is requested to direct the City Clerk to
make the necessary postings.
FISCAL IMPACT: None.
FUNDING AVAILABLE: None required.

As you reflect on your participation, I hope you will feel gratified in knowing you have been a
part of many fine events and accomplishments and that effort will continue to be made toward
enriching and improving our community. Thank you so much for sharing your talents with us.
In ending your service, it will be necessary for you to complete a Form 700 — Conflict of
Interest Leaving Office Statement no later than 30 days from the date of this letter of notice
(due Tuesday, February 79, 2008, by 5:00 p.m.) The original statement will be retained in the
City Clerk's Office. Forms have been enclosed for your convenience.

ANNOUNCEMENT
Four (4) Vacancies
on the Lodi Arts Commission
The City of Lodi is currently accepting applications for
he Lodi Arts Commission, developed to inspire,
encourage, and promote the arts in the community.
The Lodi Arts Commission meets at 12:00 noon on
he 2"d Wednesday of each month at the Thomas
theatre Gallery at Hutchins Street Square and consists
Df 11 members, each serving 3 -year terms.
Applications are now being accepted to fill four (4)
vacancies for three terms, which are due to expire July
1, 2008, and one term, which is due to expire July 1,
2010. Applications may be obtained from the City
:,lerk's Office at 221 W. Pine St., 2"d floor. For more
information call 333-6702, or access the City's Web

Appointments to the commission will be made by the
Mayor with Council approval.
Vote: You must be registered to vote in San Joaquin
'ounty at the time cf application. If appointed, you will
3e required to complete a Statement of Economic
nterest. This is a volunteer, unpaid position.
