Central Avenue, for their efforts in improving and maintaining the appearances of their property. BACKGOK)UND t ORMATIDN: In an effort to provide recognition to owners or occupants of residential, commercial or industrial properties that have made improvements or have demonstrated a history of a well-maintained property, all of which contributes to the beautification of the community, the Community Improvement Award program was established. Community Improvement Award nominations are received at various times throughout the year and are brought before the Lodi Improvemerft Committee for review at their regular meetings. City Staff provides the Improvement Committee with any pertinent information, including property ownership, the nature of the improvements or conditions upon the property that warrant recognition, as well as any background pertaining to code enforcement, police activity or other notable issue that could have bearing on the nomination. At the Lodi Improvement Committee of October 3, 2006, the following information and supporting photogralphs regarding a property at 930 S. Central Avenue that had been nominated for a Community Improvement Award was received and taken under consideration: 9W S. Civrernt resident ownefs have made improvements to the exterior over the past few years which include repainting the exterior and improving the irrigation and landscaping in the front yard. The current owners have also been very active in their community by bringing nuisance issues to the attention of the Lodi Improvement Committee, the Lodi Police Department and the Community Improvement Division. They are also active in the Neighborhood Watch program. APPROVED: l Blair King, Manager This nori*naion was the only one received and under review at that meeting. The nomination came frorn the proporty owners themselvfes. After the review of the property, the Lodi Improvement Committee voted uronimous ly to award a Community Improvement Award to Gerry and Valerie Phillips, as recognition and in appreciation for their efforts to improve and maintain their property in such a fashion that it has a positive effect on the neighborhood and to celebrate them as an example for property owners and residents throughout the community. cc: L90i Improvement Committee t ry & Va"s t hffilps
