BACKGROUND INFORMATION. This project Includes modifying the traffic signal and striping on Lodi Avenue at Stockton Street to accommodate left -turn lanes. In addition, the project includes installing a new larger cabinet foundation and replacing the cabinet controller equipment at the Elm Street and Ham Lane intersection. Over the past several years, the Lodi Avenue and Stockton Street intersection has experienced an increase in left -versus -through collisions for the eastbound and westbound approaches. Separate left -turn lanes or pockets will reduce this type of collision. As shown in the attached Exhibit A, no -parking zones are needed to accommodate separate left -turn lanes on Lodi Avenue. We sent information letters to adjacent property owners requesting their comments. All comments received concurred with the recommendation. At the Etm Street and Ham Lane intersection, some of the auxiliary equipment is obsolete and can no longer be serviced or repaired. The existing cabinet and foundation will be replaced with a larger foundation and new cabinet, controller and auxiliary equipment. Notification to the public will be mailed to property owners adjacent to the project limits. There are no detours anticipated during project construction. FISCAL IMPACT: In the near term, maintenance costs will be reduced. FUNDING AVAILABLE: The funding source for this project is Transportation Development Act (TDA).
