BACKGROUND INFORMATION: As indicated below, the City Clerk's Office was directed to post for the vacancy on the Lodi Improvement Committee. It is recommended that the City Council concur with the following appointment. The City Council, at its regular meeting of May 17, 2006, has concurred with the Mayor's recomi+nendation to appoint you to the Lodi Improvement Committee. A copy of this letter will be forwarded to the City Liaison for this group who will contact you shortly regarding your responsibilities and the date and time of upcoming meetings. It will be necessary for you to complete a Form 700 -- Statement of Economic Interest Assuming Office Statement (enclosed) no later than 30 days from the effective date of your appointment (due Monday, June 19, 2006 by 5:00 p.m.) Please refer to the enclosed Resolution 2004-268 for disclosure category requirements. The original statement will be retained by the City Clerk's office, or may be filed with the Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC). Many qualified candidates were interviewed, making the sekxlion a difficult one. Ultimately, Mayor Hitchcock recommended that another candidate be appointed, and at the regular City Council meeting of May 17, 2006, the City Council concurred with the Mayor's recommendation. We appreciate your interest in serving the citizens of Lodi, and hope that you will continue volunteering your time to support Lodi and its surrounding communities.
