RECOMMENDED ACTION: That Mayor Hitchcock present a proclamation proclaiming the period
of April 9 — 15, 2006 as National Telecom municators' Week in the
City of Lodi.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The Mayor has been requested to present proclamation
proclaiming the period of April 9 — 15, 2006 as National
Telecom municators'Week in the City of Lodi. Lieutenant Bryan
Noblett will attend the meeting to accept the proclamation, along
with representatives from the Lodi Police Dispatchers Association.
The Lodi Police Department has sixteen Dispatcher/Jailers, two Lead Dispatchers and two Dispatch
Supervisors. They work twelve hour shifts. Lodi is one of the very few departments in the State of
California where the Dispatchers not only staff the Communications Center for business and 911 calls,
they also serve as Jailers, booking and processing prisoners while they await arraignment in Court or
transfer to other agencies. Several of the Dispatcherswork special assignments as Court Liaison, Field
Evidence Technicians, Crime Prevention OKioer, and members of the Hostage Negotiations Team.
