This would represent 1.3% per year increase, compared with 2.16 for County, and slightly higher than about 1% for the City over the last 16 years. In the last six years, the City added about 1,604 housing units. Only 24 of these are attached and 20 multifamily. Median househol4 income in 1989 was slightly above the county average, and by 1999, slipped to slightly elow the county average. • Biggest employer is government. Four biggest private employers are Lodi Memorial Hospital, Gerieral bills, Blue Shield, and Pacific Coast Producers. • The City's commu�er population has grown substantially. Notable that in 1990, less than 5% of workers cor*muted to outside of San Joaquin or Sacramento counties; increased to 24% in 2000. Retail Sales: - Done well in $etad sales. In constant 2005 dollars, sales per capita increased from $9,793 to 11,6*. Slight increase in number of outlets per person as well. -- Auto dealers cc onprise 28% of sales. - City sales ber than County as whole in general nchandise, food stores, restaurants, ank autos. Poor in apparel sales, which needs a larger papulation base. Apparel sales, *wever, are a small portion (1.5%) of total sales.
