Stockton.
MEETING DATE: February 21, 2007
PREPAWD BY: Randy Match, Community Development Director
RECOMI ESD ACTION: Receive a list of Major Development Projects in North Stockton from
the City of Stockton, specifically the area surrounding Eight Mile
Road, as background to the City of Lodi's General Plan Update.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Staff requested the City of Stockton to provide a list of current,
pending and anticipated housing projects within Stockton's General Plan Area. The City of Stockton
provided us with a map of major projects (see attachment A) which includes all of the projects including
the size and number of units for each project. An area of concern is the development in or around Eight
Mile Road in the City of Stockton. Staff created a table that includes this area of concern, the projects
north of Eight Mile Road and projects adjacent to and south of Eight Mile Road. The City of Stockton
currently has a total of 7,265 acres and 32,883 housing units around Eight Mile Road that are either
approved, received or anticipated (see attachment B). For scale and context, the total number of existing
housing units in the City of Lodi is approximately 23,000.
