BACKGNOUND INFORMATIDN: The Downtown Lodi Business Partnership has submitted the required annual budget as per Lodi Municipal Code 12.06.110. The protests received from affected businesses to modify or eliminate the budget were not sufficient to qualify as grounds to eliminate the increase in assessment fees of 20%. Ordinance No. 1789 was approved by Council on January 17, 2007, which allows for establishment of the annual benefit fee to be assessed in the business area. Staff recommends that the annual fees as contained in the attached Resolution be assessed as follows: Lodi Area Annual Benefit Fee . b e Zone A�. .� Zone B Y M Irllll 1. Financiallrtstitutions $600.00 $600.00 The increase in the benefit fees assessed (approximately $8,120) to the businesses is estimated to increase the revenues to the Downtown Lodi Business Partnership to a total annual assessment amount of $48,750. This represents a supplemental assessment and is in addition to the initial assessment that was made on January 1, 2007, DISCAL I11111IIPACT: There is no fiscal impact to the City related to this action. FUNDING AVAILABLE: The additional costs of preparing and mailing the supplemental assessment will be borne by Hance and City Attorney' budgets. s R. IT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby approve the Lodi Area Annual Benefit Fee increase as outlined above. Dated. STEPHEN SCHWASAMER City Attorney R ORDINANCE REPEA JNG AND REENACTING SECTION 12.06.050 RELATING TO ESTANLISHMENT OF BENEFIT FEE and RIISOLUTIQN APPROVING MACE IN ASSESSMENT RATES BY 20% FOR THE DOWNTOWN kODI BUSINESS PARTNERSHIP The Lodi City Council, at its meeting of January 17, 2007, adopted the enclosed orcinance repealing and reenacting Section 12.06.050 relating to the establishment of bensfit fee for the Downtown Lodi Business Improvement Area No. 1. Further, at its meeting of February 7, 2007, the City Council adopted the enclosed resolution approving the increase in assessment rates by 20% for the Downtown Lodi Business Partnership.
