RECOhW*NDED ACTION: That the City Council approve the specifications and authorize
advertisement for bids for 20,000 feet of #110 medum-voltage, concentric -
neutral, EPR -insulated underground electric cable.
BACKGIM}LMV IIWOFMATION: According to EUD's warehouse inventory report in December 2006, the
remaining #11015kV underground cable is 324 feet after project work order
encumbrances. The last procurement for this cable was made on August
30, 2005 for 20,000 feet.
The #11015kV underground cable is a standard component of the City's electric power network. It will be used in
new residential and commercial developments and in electrical distribution system upgrades. Some projects that
are planned for the instatietion of'this cable include the Auto Center Drive loop and line extension and the rebuilding
of underground system around Geweke Toyota area. The estimated cafe length for these projects is approximately
7,000 feet.
In order to cover these project requirements as well as anticipated near -future needs, staff recommends purchasing
the 20,000 feet of 0110 15kV underground electric cable.
