AGENDA TITLE: Adopt Resolution Approving Specifications, Authorizing Advertisement for
Bids for Lane Line Striping for Various City Streets 2005, and Authorizing
City Manager to Award or Reject the Contract up to $35,000
MEETING DATE: September 7, 2005
PREPARED BY: Public Works Director
RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council adopt a resolution approving specifications,
authorizing advertisement for bids for Lane Line Striping for Various
City Streets 2005, and authorizing the City Manager to award or
reject the contract up to $35,000.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: This project provides for installation of traffic stripes (lane lines) on
approximately 38 percent of all striped City streets. The lane line
paint application was skipped in 2004 as a one-time cost savings.
Should the actual bid be more than the amount budgeted, lane lines to be repainted will be decreased to
match the funds available. Since weather is a factor in the application of lane lines, it is important to
expedite the award process, thus, the reason for requesting award by the City Manager.
