AGENDA TITLE: Accept Improvements Under Contract for Municipal Service Center
Public Works Locker Room Expansion Project

RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council accept the improvements under the "Municipal
Service Center Public Works Locker Room Expansion Project"
contract.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The project was awarded to Diede Construction, of Woodbridge, on
November 3, 2004, in the amount of $155,000. The contract has
been completed in substantial conformance with the plans and
specifications approved by City Council.
The contract completion date was July 9, 2005, and the contract was completed on time. The final
contract price was $174,358. The difference between the original contract amount and the final contract
amount is due to one change order ($19,358) for the addition of two required handicap access ramps,
which was approved by Council at the April 6, 2005 meeting.
Following acceptance by the City Council, the City Engineer will file a Notice of Completion with the
County Recorder's office.
FISCAL IMPACT: Slight increase in costs for building maintenance and utilities for the
800 -square -foot additional space.
FUNDING AVAILABLE: Budgeted Funds: Water IMF, Wastewater IMF and Storm Drain IMF
(one-third each)
