CITY OF LODI
COUNCIL COMMUNICATION
AGENDA TITLE: Donation of retired gymnastic equipment to the Stockton Rotary
MEETING DATE: August 3, 2005
PREPIdtED BY: Parks and Recreation Director
RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council approves the donation of retired gymnastic
equipment to the Stockton Rotary.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The Parks and Recreation Department is currently housing a
number of pieces of gymnastic equipment that is no longer being
used by the Department and have been deemed surplus. In an
attempt to find a way to extend the useful life of this equipment,
Department staff has been in contact with various service clubs.
The Stockton Rotary Club has expressed interest in obtaining the equipment. The Club has plans to
deliver the various items to a community in Mexico. The Stockton Rotary Club will be responsible for
removing the items from the Parks Division storage facility and transporting the items to the Club's
storage facility prior to being shipped to their final destination.
FISCAL IMPACT: The subject gymnastic equipment does not meet current equipment
standards. Donating the unused equipment will free up badly needed
indoor storage space in the Recreation Annex building.
