AGENDA TITLE: Adopt Resolution Approving Specifications, Authorizing Advertisement for
Bids for Elevator Services, and Authorizing the City Manager to Award or
Reject the Contract up to $13,500

RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council adopt a resolution approving specifications for
the above contract, authorizing advertisement for bids, and
authorizing the City Manager to award or reject the contract up to
$13,500.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Elevator services currently have been performed through
maintenance agreements with varying elevator service contractors,
often continuing with the companies that installed the elevators in
City facilities when they were originally constructed.
This service contract is to provide for ongoing elevator services to City of Lodi elevators at City Hall,
Carnegie Forum, Police Facility, Parking Structure, and Public Safety Building for a period of two years
and add elevators from other contracts as they expire. Staff also requests that Council authorize the
City Manager to extend the contract up to two years, if an extension is in the best interest of the City.
FISCAL IMPACT: Not Applicable.
FUNDING AVAILABLE: The money for elevator services will be coming from the Facilities Services
2005106 Operating Budget.

RESOLUTION NO. 2005-150
A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL APPROVING
SPECIFICATIONS, AUTHORIZING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR
ELEVATOR SERVICES, AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO AWARD OR REJECT THE CONTRACT UP TO $13,500
WHEREAS, this service contract is to provide ongoing elevator services for City of Lodi
elevators located at City Hall, Carnegie Forum, Police Facility, Parking Structure, and Public
Safety Building for a period of two years, with the addition of other contracts as they expire; and
WHEREAS, staff recommends approval of the specifications and advertisement for bids
for elevator services, and further recommends authorizing the City Manager to award or reject
the contract up to an amount not exceeding $13,500.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council does hereby approve
the specifications and advertisement for bids for elevator services for the City of Lodi; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Lodi City Council hereby authorizes the City
Manager to award or reject the contract in an amount not to exceed $13,500.
