HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Report - June 1, 2005 E-03AGENDA ITEM E05 &IM CITY OF LODI COUNCIL COMMUNICATION TM AGENDA TITLE: Approve Specifications and Authorize Advertisement for Bidsfor Curb, Gutter and Sidewalk Annual Contract MEETING DATE: June 1,2005 PREPARED BY: Public Works Director RECOMMENDEDACTION: That the City Council approve specifications and authorize advertisement for bids for the curb, gutter and sidewalk annual contract. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: This contract is for miscellaneous concrete work, as needed during the course of the year. The work could include new sidewalks as part of the City's installation program, replacementwork resulting from maintenance projects, repair of defective concrete, and repairs of utility work. The bid includes a wide range of work items and unit prices for each. In addition, the prices would be made available to property owners who wish to have work in the public rig ht -of -way done by the City's contractor. The specifications are on file in the Public Works Department at the Municipal Service Center. The funding level projected below is based on the proposed budget and the final amounts will be based on the adopted budget and any additional work that may be done by other funding sources, such as utilities, propertyowners, etc. FISCAL IMPACT: This contract reduces the risk of liability and improves pedestrian mobility in the City. FUNDING AVAILABLE: The money for this material will be coming from the Street and Capital Operating Budget in the proposed 2005/2006 budget.
