AGENDA TITLE: Presentation Regarding the 2005 Celebration on Central Event

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The seventh annual Celebration on Central, a collaboration between
the Community Partnership for Families of San Joaquin and the City of Lodi, will be held. Sunday,. May
15, 2004. The event, a health and safety fair for families living in Lodi's east side, will again be using the
Joe Sema Jr. Charter School grounds. Food donated by the Greater Stockton Emergency Food Bank
and the Salvation Army, will be prepared by volunteers from First Baptist Church, the Lodi Mexican
American Lions Club, M.O.L.E., Black Tie Gourmet, and a handful of tireless recruits. Almost 50
agencies and organizations will be offering services such as health screenings, medicine, animal care,
and children's activities as well as information.
Such an event could not take place without the support of a dedicated group of volunteers and the
generosity of our sponsors and donors. Over $8,000 and countless other donations have been pledged.
Major donors include Health Plan of San Joaquin, F&M Bank, Kaiser Permanente, First 5 of San Joaquin,
Pacific Coast Produce, Lodi Electric Utility, Lodi Adopt -a -Child, Central Valley Waste Management,
Wyeth Consumer Health Care, Dart Container, and the Lodi Community Service Center.
