AGENDA TITLE: Presentation to Animal Services Supervisor Terri Arbuckle for her years of
service to the City of Lodi Animal Shelter
MEETING DATE: September 1, 2004
PREPARED BY: Jerry J. Adams, Chief of Police
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Mayor Hansen will make a presentation to Animal Services
Supervisor Terri Arbuckle for her many years of service to the City
of Lodi Animal Shelter
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Animal Services Supervisor Terri Arbuckle will be relocating to the
Redding area along with her husband, Joe, as the California
Highway Patrol has transferred him to a new position.
Terri Arbuckle began her career with the Lodi Animal Shelter on September 29, 1997 as an Assistant
Animal Services Officer. She was promoted to Animal Services Officer on February 22, 1999 and the
position was reclassified to Animal Services Supervisor in December of 2002.
Under Terri's supervision the Lodi Animal Shelter has truly become "community friendly," offering a
welcoming environment for animal care and adoption.
Over the years Terri has groomed shelter staff and numerous volunteers to work together with local
veterinarians and special interest groups to provide the Lodi community with optimum services and
assistance. When confronted with overcrowded conditions, she played an integral part in obtaining
temporary quarters for shelter staff so the main shelter could be expanded for animals. She has made
great strides in educating the public about spay and neuter programs as well as promoting animal
adoptions.
